Question: You receive an error message "Local policy of this system does not permit you to logon interactively" when trying to log on to a limited user account from a NNETSTATION terminal. Reason: Because the changes in Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 3, a standard limited user account may not be able to log on to NETSTATION terminal. Resolution: To correct this problem, the first one logged in as NETSTATION host Note: Due to the limited features, the use of Windows XP Home operating system, this hotfix only applies to Windows XP Professional. Click Start, and then click Run. Enter "gpedit.msc" Click OK When the Group Policy Object Editor, browse to: Computer Configuration "Windows Settings" "Security Settings" "Local Policies" User Rights Assignment In the right pane, locate the entry called "Allow log on through Terminal Services" and double-click it. Click the "Add User or Group .." Type "Everyone" into the existing text box and click "Check Name" Stressed after the name, click OK Click OK You should now be able to successfully log in NETSTATION terminal and any local or domain user account |
